I know there's the Southcenter write-ins on Sundays, but that's when I work, and my dad doesn't really want me going to anything during the school week (which is homework/secretly working on NaNo time). So I was wondering if anyone wanted to try and organize something on Saturdays in the nearby area?

There's a small Starbucks near the Fred Meyers on Petrovistky Rd, and I could talk to them about doding something if anyone else in the area is interested.

Anyone have any other near locations or other ideas?

Otherwise Magic8Ball and I'll just have to hang out together, lol

The Starbucks near Toreros and such? I'd love to meet there!

If you're talking about where I think you're talking about, I live in walking distance! (Just moved into the area; my first thought upon reading that was, "I actually know where something is?")

I'd love to come -- if you don't mind my 4yo tagging along. :-)

I was thinking the Starbucks almost in the Fred Meyer's parking lot, surrounded by all the fast food, next door to Taco Bell?
But the other one sounds good too as long as it's close =3

And kids are adorable, so I wouldn't mind you bringing your's along in the least =^.^=

When are you planning on meeting? I live in the Highlands but would be interested in coming once or twice, depending on my availability. Glad to hear there are fellow Rentoners (Rentonites?) doing NaNo this year!

... I don't know where the other one is (new to the area, as I said). I'd be game, except I don't think I'll be making it to anything until next week as my son and I were just diagnosed with swine flu. Let's hope I can maintain focus and concentration enough to take advantage of my unexpected week off of work and write write write! (Not going well so far, I'm even more easily distracted than usual.) :-(

*facepalm*
Well, I just realized (because I was driving by the Fred Meyers and all that) that we're talking about the same Starbucks, lol
So, yeah. One of us could get over there and talk to the employees about it, and then we could get it going on Saturdays?

And onceiwasaturtle, I hope you get well soon! I've had some friends come down with it (diagnosed) so it's kind of in the area at the moment. I wish you good luck with the writing as well~

I have vague memories of seeing a Toreros somewhere.... But ... I'm not exactly the most observant person in the universe! Plus, mostly when I've been driving around it's already been dark out (insert random cynical comment about work/job/commute here).

And, thanks, GELane! ^^

Toreros is on Renton Ave, across the street from McLendon's.

Well, there's also a Torero's in the Fred Meyer's parking lot at the cross of Petrovitsky Rd & 108th Ave
So now I'm confused as to which one we're talking about x3

GELane, do you mean the Fred Meyer off Benson? I know where that is. There's a Starbucks there, right?

I've been looking at my calendar, and with us having the flu right now, the 14th is the only Saturday I'd be able to make one (we'll be out of state after that). I really want to, though! It would be so cool!

This Saturday would be diffucult for me, too. My school band is playing in a parade and I'll be gone for a huge chunk of the day.

Well, not being able to hop on the computer Friday left me slightly out of the loop, lol
But I couldn't really make it either last Saturday.

Although, Magic8Ball and I did go in and ask some of the staff on Friday if they would mind us gathering there, and they said they wouldn't mind (especially if we bought something, lol)

So how's everyone looking forward to next Saturday (the 14th) then? I'm pretty sure I can make it then.

I hate to leave the house in the mornings on Saturdays, but it looks like that's the only time I'd be able to do it. I'd be able to stay until maybe around 11:45. I really would be happy if a bunch of people met up -- it might be the only write in I get to do this year! (My first NaNo!)

So we should meet around 8? It could be an all day kind of thing, where people can come in whenever they can.

8 sounds ok! As previously mentioned, I shall have my 4yo along with me. (My husband works weekends.) But I don't even live a mile away, so if I need to take him home to run around like a crazed monkey and then come back, I can. ^^

Does anyone attending this Saturday have a duck? How are we going to know who we are when we all arrive? (I look nothing like my username, and I don't have a 4-year-old to identify myself with.) =) I've got a couple ducks, but I likely won't be there right at 8. Saturdays are my one day a week when I can sleep in, and I plan on wallowing in the luxury.

Despite having a real, live 4 year old, I do not happen to also be the possessor of any rubber duckies.... I'd have my son wear his yellow duck towel (he'd happily dance around in it the whole time, I'm sure), but he kind of outgrew it so much so that it won't even go over his head anymore!

I suppose if no one else will admit to a secret rubber duckie and bubble bath fetish, I can always go buy one ... I'm sure my son would be thrilled! ;-)

Lol, I'll see about getting a rubber duckie (I wish I had my aunt's, it's a little devil duckie ;D) but if I can't find one, I'll bring at least a printed picture of one, and I've got the "Wrimos at work" NaNo poster from the site with me already.

I like printing things out ^^;

I just remembered (thank youuu, reminder email) that I have a test to take all day Saturday. Hello, GREs.

So I'll try to be there next week, but this Saturday, unless I plan on blowing my $150 and any and all efforts to get into grad school, is a no-go for me. =(

I managed 2,224 words (finally had a chance to input it into a wordcounter) and had a great time! It was nice to meet you, GELane and Magic8ball! Hopefully next weekend's group will be bigger for you!

I'll be out of state for the next two Saturdays, but will be back on the 29th if anyone's up for a Sunday write in?
