Is anyone else doing NaNo for charity? Since this is the writer's equivalent of running a marathon... an ultramarathon... with no shoes on, I figured if I was going to do this to myself, someone should get something out of it and so I've picked Barnardos who do awesome things for kids that are disadvantaged to stop them from falling into a cycle of crime, violence and abuse.
I'm publishing my novel on a secondary blog to my normal one. http://abnowrimo.wordpress.com/ as I write it...unedited. It's going to be bloody hilarious and obviously pretty fast-paced. However if anyone wants to read they'll need a username and password to access this blog. The dealio is when you donate, you get an email with the log-in details and then you can read, comment, take the piss... etc.
If anyone does want to donate, you can do so here: http://www.justgiving.com/AbNoWriMo/ and if anyone is looking for some purpose behind why they're doing NaNo this year, why not pick a charity that means something to you and do something similar :)

That's a fantastic idea!!! Not only would it be a 'good thing' (tm), but it would also help provide that added impetus when things aren't going well. Please forgive me, but I'm going to completely copy your idea and run with it!
See http://www.justgiving.com/pulsenovel for donations, and http://pulsenovel.wordpress.com for the story itself.
Again, thank you Audiofrog, and good luck with the novel!

I am also doing NaNo to raise money for a school in Tanzania, I think it a really good way to raise money, if a little stressful...
