I acquired a mascot while working on another writing project. Her name is Rosie and she is a stuffed (don't tell her this, she's convinced she's alive) large (but not life-sized;), blue rhinoceros. She seems to be basically good-natured; however, when she gets behind you on a project she has certain (ahem) motivating qualities....

I have Edward--he's my inspiration monkey (given to me by the wonderful Mrs. S). Actually, he's a dual personality. After November he will revert back to Eddie, who conspires with my internal editor for my discomfort (torture, more like).
----------Using NaNo to complete my second book in this imagined series...
In Search of Truth: The Sherwood Chronicles
1. Stained
2. Forest of Lies (written!)
3. Unbroken
4. The Bow (NaNo)

My dog Lucy usually serves as my mascot. She curls up by my knees on the couch while I write and tries to look cute in an attempt to get me to pet her. If I don't she lays down on my keyboard or puts her feet on it and looks at me until I do her bidding. But I like having her next to me when I write. It's easier to write something depressing when something little and furry is begging for your attention.
----------"What are you doing here? I thought I killed you yesterday!" grumbled Albi quite racistly.
"No, Albi. You didn't kill me with your dragon flames. I crawled to safety, but you did leave me very badly disfigured," laughed the boy.

I have my cat, Newcastle. He doesn't allow me to sit at the computer without him in my lap, so no matter how often I get up and sit back down its just part of the routine to let him get settled again before I can start typing.

Does Meowtima count? XD I joke. >>" Maybe. XD
Okay, okay in all seriousness. I don't' have a technical mascot. But I do write my novel for so long cause hogging the computer all day to type a novel bugs my biological father. Does that count? XD

Well, I've got the little plastic monkey I got at the Kick-Off I went to last month. It's a monkey lying on its stomach, and I've attached it to the monitor of my computer so if my eyes wander from the screen, he'll be there watching me and reminding me to keep writing.
Also, my friend and I have this running joke about elephants that would take too long to explain, so elephants are sort of my mascot too. If I start slacking off, my friend will threaten to send elephants to trample me ^_^

I have my two little plastic spaceships from last year that serve as my mascots. I'm thinking I need something new for this year, though... perhaps a new ship for the fleet.

I have a stuffed Eeyore that beseeches me with his melancholy eyes to keep writing. I can't add more distress to a sad plush donkey! :)
