Hello East London! (very East!)

On Monday's Bethnal Green meet-up, we weren't sure about the venue for on Saturday or the interest, and Gail isn't going to be able to attend. I said I'd check out the George in Wanstead as I live there. We're allowed. I do NOT know if there are plug-ins, as I was exhausted from work and totally forgot to check (to be honest, I was just so proud of myself that I actually had the guts to ask the manager about it!)

It's a GO.

LOCATION:

The George Pub, Wanstead. (ZONE 4)

DIRECTIONS:

Central Line: Wanstead OR Snaresbrook Station.

OFF WANSTEAD STATION: It's right across the street.

OFF SNARESBROOK STATION: Go across the little bridge thing over the street and down the stairs. Turn left. Stay there until you see the George. If you hit Wanstead Station, turn around ;)

Now, it IS in Zone 4 so keep that in mind. However, it's really quick to get out there so at least time isn't an issue.

The manager seemed a little worried that we might not eat/drink much, so if you could be kind to them and think about either eating an early supper or a late lunch, that would be lovely.

Any takes? Who could come?

Hey there!

Well done for organising this. :-)

I can't say for sure yet if I'll make it... waiting on a man! Bla :-) But if I am free I will pop over from 2.

Can't believe they're worried about people eating and drinking? I'm sure they can't get SO packed in there on a Saturday afternoon that it'd be a problem. It's a pretty big pub.

Hope there's some more takers...

Happy writing!!

Jacky

Ah, I was about to say yes I'll come, and then I remembered I'm in a concert and will be in the Barbican all day! Damn it... all the right tubes are not suspended too. (Hi I'm Rosie who was on the tube with you on Monday btw... very limited internet access at the moment which is kind of unhelpful.)

Yeah, but I think it's pay. I know that on my street (Hermon HIll) people park for free and it's not too far of a walk (I'll be walking it myself). But right behind the George there is some pay parking.

Cool - I'll chance it with the pay parking. It's just a bit too far to bike if it's going to be raining like this!
