This is faking the nano site. It looks like a scam to me.
If you want to help the maryland team, just donate directly to NaNo with your home team set to Maryland.

Even if it has been done with the best intentions, the use of the NaNoWriMo logo and header without permission of the Office of Lights and Letters is NOT allowed.

Ok, I got an official answer!
Lain, what you need to do is fix this so that it is not "Team Maryland" but just set up in YOUR name!
It is great to get sponsored and to have friends and family donate in your name. But the "Team Maryland" thing will get confusing (and I'm quoting the official staff response here).
This is not something you post in the forum. Instead, you send the link to your family and friends. We will all make donations in our own names, but as we are all setting Maryland as our Home Region, Maryland automatically gets the credit!!!
I actually tested your page and it does not find "punahougirl84" as an author, so I believe you can only do individual sponsorship with your site.

So anyone looking for more ways to get donations for NNWM, check out the official sponsorship page I linked to.

It said on there when I started if I wanted a team site or an idividual and I chose a team. Many of the other team listed on there are like team texas or team arizon. Why can't Maryland have one?

I'm going to just suggest that people read the Gifttool link and decide what they want. I saw that there were teams but it looks like members can be sponsored as individuals.
I appreciate your efforts on Maryland's behalf. I suggest anyone interested in this option look at the About/Getting Sponsored link.
Were the other teams that were set up for actual geographic areas set up by regional MLs? I would think that would be the case, but maybe they were just created by enthusiastic Wrimos?
