Ok, I don't think its anything remotely like a finished novel, or even close. It desperately needs editing for spelling, grammar, and hacking to about a third of its current length, but its 2 o'clock PM day 3, and I just hit 40,105, and am still going to bed dreaming in the next chapter and am feeling really pumped about the whole experience.

I seem to have found myself working on a trilogy for my first NaNo. Huh.

40,266 at 3pm on November 4th and going strong -- this is the number I should get on the 24th if I were doing the standard 1,667 a day. I think that's enough Virtual Days to account for the 3d being a sick day with zero count. Whoohoo!

The up side, this novel is going to be significantly longer than 50k. Has to be. I've got way too much plot left to resolve in only 10,000 more words -- barely made it into the middle yet!

Last year it took me all month to get my 50K. I'll surpass that tomorrow.

Tonight I just hit my 40K and I am waving at it as I pass.

I just ran smack dab into 40k and pushed it for a little bit.
I'm exhausted and my fingers hurt.
I was proud of myself last year for hitting 50k on the 12th, but I'm probably going to hit it on the 5th (if I don't have to study too much, which I think I will, important test on friday, ahhh). And that's a really effing scary thought.
I'm not going to lie to you all, I'm so impressed with everyone!
You guys all rule and good luck with the final (or maybe not, for those of us shooting for higher goals!) stretch!

Awesome work, everyone! ^-^

Hit 40k a couple thousand words ago, didn't realize it 'til now. Might possibly make it to 50k tonight. *Yawn* It's only 5:40pm!

I know that this thing isn't going to stop at 50k though. It has a loooong way to go (and a lot of things need fixing.). Is it odd to still feel like my novel is a bunch of rambling nonsense, even though it's 40k words of rambling nonsense? I look over it and go: but where's the story?! D: Anyone else feel like that? (I hope not! It's sad.)

I hit 40k this morning... and I'm annoyed. I am still really REALLY early in my general plot outline. The main character hasn't even become a vampire yet. *sigh* At least I have another 25 days to get through the rest of it.

Exactly! That's what's going on with my novel, it's still just barely past the beginning of my outline. Definitely annoying. ._.

I really didn't feel up to doing the last 2k necessary to get me here (I'd already done 3k today), but I would have felt like such a failure if I hadn't, so...yay for getting all the way to 40k!!

I just reached it! Yay! It took me forever to get in writing mode, and I almost stopped at 600 words, but then I pushed myself to twice that much. I don't think I'll be able to reach 50k tomorrow because I've never been able to do 10k on a school day, but by Saturday.... well, if I don't reach it then I'll by disappointed in myself XD.

I'm right there with you, Griffin! I was at 39,618 words when I officially ran out of writing brain cells for the day, but I powered through and I plan to make it to at least 45k, preferably 50k, tomorrow! YAY! I'm going for a 100k, but, depending on how my brain holds up and if my fingers fall off, I might go for 125 or 150! All things are possible when you can end a day with 40k! (rhyme for the win! I'm a poet and don't know it, but my FEET surely show it - they're Longfellows!)

After staring out the day at about 28,000, it feel wonderful to be the proud owner of over 40,000 words and only having less than 10,000 words to go. After shouting already in the 30k and 35k threads, I originally didn't think I had it in me to write all the way to 40,000 words by tonight, but I just stuck with it and writing just came so naturally. Now I'm going to take a break until tomorrow, after writing so much for today, but tomorrow I'm shooting to get over 50,000 words!

I made it with 5 minutes to go, hurrah!
