Haha... I had been guessing as the page loaded what your total would be. I was off by a factor of 2. Very impressive, as always.

Wow, that's awesome! Great going! I know it's certainly posibble to do that much in three days. Anyone who doubts you is obviously just jealous. ^_^ Keep up the good work!

having read the little "read first" post, I urge the topic be dropped.
In conclusion, the words I began with: Congratulations.

Kateness, you are probably my hero.
My friends are like "wow, you wrote x much?" And I'm always like "yeah, well, Kateness has x much. I'm working on catching up!"
You're amazing and I am so proud (and jealous!) but one of these days maybe I'll catch up! ;)
(Actually, uhm, just for reference. If you write at 100 wpm, for 60 minutes (1 hour) for 24 hours (1 day) for 3 days, you end up with. 100x60x24x3=432,000. So factoring in bathroom breaks and thinking breaks and sleep time, it is still very, VERY possible for her to reach 432,000. Sorry. Ever present problem of a math student...)

The accusations of cheating are getting tiresome. If there is anyone on this site who I believe could hit 100K in three days, it would definitely be Kateness. Congrats, girl. :D

I largely shrug off accusations of cheating, whether they be in public or in private messages. I know perfectly well what I have accomplished, and I have dedicated the past three days to hitting this total, as I will dedicate the following 27 days to getting another 900,000.
yes, it's hard. Yes, for most people, it's something that is unattainable. but this is something that I have been building to over the past four years.
In 2005, I wrote 100,000
In 2006, I wrote 300,000
In 2007, I wrote 500,000
In 2008, I wrote 800,000
This year, I strive to write a million.
No. I don't know that I'll hit it. This has been difficult for me, all three days thus far. And that's what I *like* about it. Writing 1,667 per day is *not* a challenge for me. But I use this contest to create my own challenge, and I *know* because I have the private messages and those posted on the forums to prove it, that I have inspired others to strive for as many words as they can write. I have inspired others to believe that they can write more than 50,000 words, and they have succeeded, and I have supported them every step of their journey.
I will continue to write over the course of this month, and I will continue to post shout-outs, because I am proud of the milestones that I achieve. I don't care if you don't believe me, or think me a cheater, because I am the one that spends my time at the keyboard typing away. I can look at the documents I have open, and know that I wrote X much that day.
Accuse me all you like. I'm not afraid of you, because I haven't cheated once in the past four years I've done this, and I don't plan to this year. I plan to write 1,000,000 words with sweat and endurance. It *can* be done. I know it can.
Yes, I'm unemployed. This frees up most of my day. I do spend some time job-hunting, but I will not apologize for the fact that I spend most of my day writing. This is what I do in November. Last year at this time, I was a full-time student at an Ivy League University in my senior year. I still hit 800,000 and more than passed all of my classes (B+ or more). I know my situation is not that of most, but I take advantage of what I had. I had planned, back at the beginning of the year, and I had worked out that, in theory, I could work a 40-hour week and just about still hit the million.
I am dedicated. I can type very fast. I outline extensively. I know what I am writing as I write it. I have never used any explicit cheating methods. I do not break the fourth wall. I do not refuse to use contractions. I do not write stream of consciousness. I am proud of each and every word I have written and will never apologize for what I write.
And for the record, I wrote 50,000 on the first day. Yesterday, I hit 75,000 by the time I went to bed, which was around 3 in the morning. Today, I hit the 100k at about 9pm. For 30 days out of the year, this is what I dedicate myself to. I do sleep, I make dinner for the family every night, and I watch television every night. I can handily write 3,000 words/hour for several straight hours without a break. It is my most comfortable writing speeds. I find it difficult to write more *slowly* than that. It is the way I am.

You have inspired me to no end. Thank you for the motivation!
Being in college, 2000 words a day is a challenge for me on the weekdays. Especially when I have a writing class and a language that requires lots of studying. But this weekend I plan to be like you and write, write, write!
Thank you again for being so amazing, and good luck on reaching 1,000,000!!

I have a question though, is the one million words your planning to write the one novel? Or are you writing a couple novels, say like 250K words for each novel?
Anyways, good luck with reaching your goal. :) :)

Ignore accusations of cheating, the greatest congrats to you!! That's truly freaking incredible! xD so nice one ^^
Also, I think your achievement is pretty inspirational - the fact that it is a possibility, you've basically proved that. Or at least, you'e got me to keep striving on. =)
