My hubby and I have been trying to get to Moncton to visit a good friend of ours (and get some shopping done) for months now. We finally got the opportunity...this weekend.

It's worse than it sounds because:

- We'll be leaving Thursday night and not coming back until Sunday night.
- My hubby doesn't drive, so I can't write during the ten hours worth of total travel time.
- The friend we're staying with lives in a tiny apartment; we'll be literally sleeping on his bedroom floor, so I can't stay up late/get up early and type while they're sleeping.
- We have have HAVE to get some shopping done while we're there because Christmas is coming and we live in a backwoods kind of area where shopping is extremely limited, so we want to get presents while we've got the chance to be around some actual STORES.
- Obviously we've got to hang out and have fun with our friend.

So the best I'm going to be able to do is take a notebook, and maybe scribble some stuff while the guys are sleeping/getting ready to go out/what-have-you, and then type it up when I get home. But even with that...I'm basically going to lose three days of typing.

I'm really sorry to hear about all the time you'll lose writing, but maybe it gives you a chance to look at your novel with fresh eyes, and who knows? Maybe some spark of inspiration will come to you and you'll race ahead, catching up on all the words you missed
Time should just not exist in November.

Don't give up! That really sucks, but.... still.... DON'T GIVE UP!

Um. *lacks imagination to come up with interesting words of encouragement*

I have work now, every day, from 4 to 10, and I onyl get back from college around 1:30, which basically leaves me with....... very little time to do anything. But you know what? I write while I'm standing. Inside of my own head. I even daydream about my characters as I work the cash register.

Beep, beep, beep, "Do you think he would actually do soemthing as drastic as get a tattoo, or is it too early?" "Excuse me?" Beep., clack, clack, clack "Ooops, sorry, nevermind, ummmmmmm, your total is......."

I'm sorry, that does sound like a dilemma.

Can you just take the number of words for those three days and divide them up by the number of days you do have to write, then add that number of words to the word count for each day? 5,001 divided by 21 days, for example, is only an extra 238 words per day. Good luck!

Thanks for the ideas and words of encouragement. ^_^ *hugs*

I'll manage, I'm sure. I had the same type of problem last year but I still managed. It's just annoying, you know? I went all of October without doing hell-all besides sitting around the house, and now all of a sudden, "whoops! going away for three days!" D:

I'm writing my brains out today in hopes of building a buffer. lol
