Every Wednesday at Baker's Square there is free pie with any purchase (I just get coffee, usually). SO. Let's take advantage of this and have a free pie write-in tonight.

How about the Highland Park Baker's Square
2239 Ford Parkway,
St. Paul, MN 55116-1816

(It's just a little further down 494/5 than IHOP)

Say....8 o'clock? They close at 11.

Ya'll can get there earlier, but that's when I'll for SURE be there. Come play!

Can't come, but I also love Baker's Square, and that is my "regular" Baker's Square. They have the nicest wait staff around, the managers have been nice, too. So treat 'em well, gang! I wish they were open 24/7. Have fun! (Don't know about outlets, however).

I've got something on the calendar for this week, but I'd be very interested in coming next week, if it was happening then.

If it was at the Inver Grove Heights Baker's Square, I could be there. As it sits, I will sadly be unable to attend. I need to somehow produce another 1,400 words tonight, so I best get to it! Maybe next time.

I am SO jealous of you writers at the Free Pie Write-In!

Does anyone know if they have gluten-free, dairy-free pie yet? It's only a matter of time.... (she said plaintively, but hopefully).

I have choir practice until 8:30 on Wednesdays but I can come after. Count me in for next week. If I came tonight I would get there with only twenty minutes before they closed. lol

unproductive but sweet pie! however, the outlet situation is pretty bleak. there's only one spot with outlets and it was very crowded so we were lucky to be able to move to it. we may want to check another bakers square to see if they have more outlets available. or stick with IHOP.

*bump*

Is this going to be happening again this week? I am very interested in going if it is. (And I may try to organize one myself if there isn't).

1) is there already on organized?

if not:
2) what do I have to know/do to plan a write-in?

I think we need to find a different Bakers Square or at least call ahead and see if we can reserve the booth by the outlet somehow. Anyone willing to look into this? Someone mentioned the Bakers Square in Bloomington?

What about the Bakers Square in White Bear Lake? I'm not sure if this would be too far for most people, but that's one near me. The Bloomington one might be a bit longer than I'd like to go, although if enough other people were headed that way, I could probably be convinced.

I could give the White Bear Lake one a call tomorrow morning to find out details there if people would be interested in that. There is also one in Roseville, which is not as far out.

White Bear Lake (Maplewood):
3088 White Bear Ave. N.,
Maplewood, MN 55109-1312

Roseville:
1881 Highway 36 W.,
Roseville, MN 55113-2709

Edit: I'd be happy to call the Highland park one, too if that would be better for most people. I'm not sure what there policy is on reserving booths.

I've got 1 power strip I could bring.

What time are people thinking?

White Bear Lake is too far.....for me anyway since I come from Lakeville. I would be willing to do Roseville though.

Yes! Let's do Roseville! (She says, fully aware of how self-serving it is.)

I can't do the Bloomington/MOA/Eden Prairie type events during the week. It's a HAUL from Anoka County! :)

I don't want to take over anyone's gig, so just let me know if I should dial up the Roseville one to see about a spot near outlets.

I can DO Roseville! I will be taking the bus down there earlier in the day and having a mini vacation.

Anyone wanting to meet up earlier for a write-in in the Rosedale area,
just call my cellphone #763 - 257 - 7950 so we can arrange a spot to meet.
I will NOT have internet access after I leave the house on Wednesday. :D

My Sister will be picking me up afterwards to take me home. :D

Given that the signage is different "The Square" black box background red letters, I'm not convinced it actually is a Baker's Square in Roseville. The free pie deal may not apply. Could you verify for those interested?

Failing that might I suggest a later than usual start time? Say 9:30 or 10 as they close at 11 and are likely to be less jammed.

There is also one at Bloomington on 98th street. Turn East at the freeway exit and two/three lights, on the right. I've been there in the late evening and it hasn't been too slammed on Wednesdays. Just a few elders getting coffee for the pie and limited pie selection.

I really haven't looked into outlets and being I have the Pitch meeting tomorrow won't be able to investigate simply.. Perhaps someone could call?

Thoughts?

I can't speak for anyone else, but don't worry about taking over anyone's gig on my account. I'd say go ahead and call them, and post us what you learn. I'm really bad about saying I'll do stuff like that, then forgetting, so I would love for someone else to do it.

*snip*

I'd rather not start too late, so we have a good chuck of time before close. 9pm?

As to it being a real baker's Square, the address I posted came right from their corporate website. I'm pretty sure I've never been to that location, so I can't vouch personally.

I would be more partial to the Bloomington location, especially if we are going to do a late start. I think we should check out that one first.

We don't need to do a late start. It would be silly to go there for only 2 hours. ;) I'll be there by 6:30 - 7 PM as I'm ordering dinner.
I'll have my NaNoWriMo sign on a black stick. Sign says "NaNoWriMo 50,000 words or bust".

I can't stay until 11pm as my Sister is picking me up and has to get her 7yr old to bed ASAP after her Prof. decides to end class. (Class is suppose to end at 10, but often ends earlier.)

According to the website, the Free Pie Wednesdays is at all participating restaurants, (and the Roseville location is a bakers square, like was said above.)

If people confirm that we are doing Roseville, then I'll be there for sure. If people decide that location won't work, thats fine, and I'll bow out as my Sister is in Roseville that evening and can't pick me up from anywheres else. ;)
Also, we could always split up and do 2 locations - wouldn't some of the IHOP / Denny's group go to to the other location?

If we chose the Bloomington location I might go. Otherwise I'm leaning towards just doing the EP Dunn Brothers write-in.

Sweet. I just talked a co-worker of my into being on call for a few hours tomorrow night for me so I can go to the write-in (I'd forgotten I was on call until earlier today o_O). I'm going to go to the Roseville location, since it is a lot closer. I think I'll be able to get there between 8:30 and 9.

Roseville Baker's Square DOES DO the Wednesday Pie Special.

Here is my 2 cents worth ;)

Who: Anyone who wants to make the trek. Others, feel free to go to one in Bloomington, with my blessings. :D
Where: Roseville Baker's Square off of Perimeter road and Fairview, by Good Earth and Hwy 36.
TIME: 6:30pm - 9:20pm or later. ( I leave when Sis arrives, which could be anywhere's from 9:20 - 10:20 as her class sometimes lets out early and othertimes doesn't.)
What: Write-In and for me, supper.

If anyone confirms they will do Roseville, great.
If after 7:30am Wednesday, then please call my cellphone at 763-257-7950 and I'll reserve a spot. Before 7:30am, I should be able to check online yet, so posting here would be fine. :D

IF you call me AFTER 12:00 noon, I should be able to tell if they have outlets or not. Sorry! Forgot to ask. ;)
Then, I'll kindly ask you to post the info here, as I won't have internet access at that time.

Also, remember that Baker's Square does NOT do the free pie on thanksgiving week.

Hope this is clear and less verbose. lol
Funny: By the time I finished rewriting this so I can post it, someone already posted they were coming. LOL I am SO verbose!
