Seeing as how Nick (Plato33) and I already meet-up on Mondays and Wednesdays to pretend to be writers, I thought we could maybe schedule something semi-officially for those nights for a write-in, maybe even get a liaison to get it up in the Regional Events box.

We usually meet-up at 7 o’clock or so to write, but can do earlier I’m sure.

The only question is where. Our choices I believe are as follows:

1. Flying Star on Silver and 7th - We were here for the afternoon kick-off and I’d think it’d work fine if we had less people. Plenty of parking, not always a lot of outlets, but you should probably buy something to write here.

2. Frontier - Parking is easy enough, outlets are in decent supply in the off-hours. Buying something to write here is cheaper.

3. Zimmerman Library Basement - Very quiet, plenty of space, no purchase obligation though there is a Starbucks upstairs, and potentially study rooms. Minuses are even getting to campus and finding parking, though it would be easy enough for the UNM crowd and especially students. Though, if you’re a student on campus for a lecture until write-in time, the last thing you probably want to do is hang out in the basement of Zimmerman even later.

4. Health Sciences Library on North Campus - Parking is a little easier here since after 4 o’clock, you can park in the nearby neighborhood. I’m a graduate student so I can reserve a study room pretty easily. You won’t have to buy anything, though if you need caffeine or something, there’s nothing really nearby except the hospital.

5. R.B. Winnings - I haven’t written here, but I think the cool English Department peeps hang out here.

I didn’t list Satellite because the ones on Central are usually completely cluster-filled with undergrads.

Anyway, for people who want to make these, give me a heads up of which location sounds nice. It's currently November 4th, so our first official non-official write-in would be next week on Monday on the 9th. I'll wait for some opinions and then post a place and time.

Antoine

I can't make a meeting tonight, but maybe next week.

Even though I'm on campus during the day, I'm against doing things on campus in the evening because it is a pain dealing with parking (or lack there of) etc...

Yeah, any place that has free parking is cool.

My vote goes with the Zimmerman basement or Frontier, personally. OpheliaCat, Michirus Mirror, and I are unlikely to make it on Mondays, as we all have Japanese study club from 7 to 9 or 10, but Wednesdays are totally doable!

I am on campus usually at that time anyway on Mondays and Wednesdays, so Frontier and Zimmerman are both very easy with me. It would rock to actually have write ins I could attend this time around, considering how much they helped last year.

So I'm totally down, and I've got two other NaNos I think I can drag to this as well, since they will be on campus too.

I'm good for Wednesday, providing I don't have an excessive amount of homework, which I likely won't since it's all supposed to be turned in by then. HugFiend and I get out of class at about 5:20, so we're good for anything on or generally around campus. Zimmerman basement will probably work, or Frontier, that way we can get food if we arrive early.

I might be there a little late-- I have a class that meets from 5:30 to 8:15 but I can usually get out of it sometime before then. I'd totally be up for Zimmerman but would rather prefer Frontier (or Denny's or whatever) since I don't usually get a chance to get dinner before class. (The SUB is an option as well, though that's a bit more unpredictable.)

I'd totally be able to make it to Wednesday meetings if they were at Frontier or Zimmerman, either works.

(And IMFromKathlene we'll be able to catch up! Hope the novel is going well! :) )

Sounds like mostly the UNM crowd is interested in meeting up, so parking isn't going to be an issue,

I am shooting to meet at Frontier at 6:30-7:00 on November 9th.

For the 11th on Wednesday, I'll also do the Frontier again, same time.

Zimmerman will probably be next week depending on how people who show up feel.

I'll totally be at the Frontier around 7:10 or 7:15 depending. Hopefully earlier, but I really really really need some encouragement to actually get writing done. My pace is stagnant, and that is totally not good.

So yes, Monday and probably Wednesday both, I will be there.
