So, I took the day off because I was kind of sick, as well as sick of work, and needed to get some politcal reading done, and it would be nice to do some of the novel too.
So I wrote like over 2,000 words again, despite not really planning to do that much and more planning to do more reading - which I didn't do enough of.
So am packing up to go into the city for socialist meeting and might finishing reading on the way...
How's people's days gone?

Pretty good so far. My day had been interrupted several times again but it wasn't nothing i didn't plan for. I still managed to add over 4000 words and am hoping to get another hour after the kids are in bed to do some more .
And I'm still enjoying myself which is the best thing.
I'm really getting to know and love my main characters, despite their personailty flaws. (Well that's what makes them fun to write.)

Today I decided that another short story I'm supposed to have finished by the 8th (hah) and started on the 2nd totally counts because it could arguably be seen as a prologue, hence the massive wordcount jump.
*goes back to writing*

Bad me. I have really tried to keep November extra-curricular commitments to a minimum but last night, tonight and the next two nights will be derailed by social activities (which are fun but don't add to the word count). I am 1000 words behind and if I don't write 1667 words in the next hour and a half, I'll be 2667 words behind by tomorrow. Aaaarrrggghh!
But the good thing that happened today was describing the process so far and realising that though it's a struggle and the writing feels muddy, lots of creative things *are* happening in the story already!

Finally!
I have made my goalof 20,000 words today.
Now to spend some time with my poor neglected mate and then to bed.
Or is it the other way around? ;)

Really struggled today after the long day at work and missed my goal by about 100 words but cannot drag out another sentence (for the novel, I mean obviously can drivel on for this post).
Writing introduction of character based on ex-boyfriend. Looked up his flikr file to find a photo of him to help with descriptions as it seems easier to make the character look like him as well and discovered that in the last 6 years he appears to have gained a bit of weight and looks startlingly like his father used to. Rather taken aback to find him so changed...

Just a smidge over the daily requirement , which is good.
I could've been a further ahead but the shock of being back at work derailed me somewhat.

Smacked into 26k words. Funny, the 'projected word count' tells me 160k. HA! Lucky if I make 100k. I tend to burn out later in the month.
I tasered a minor character. That was fun. I created a cool bad guy, gave him the name Cursor, which I like, and killed him in 3 pages. Threw him out an airlock with intestinal explosive devices on his insides. Pop!
I am about to introduce an old bad guy who is actually convinced he is doing the work of god. Just because he was shot three times, which actually healed his cybertronic ass, and now he has a voice in his head telling him where to go. He is totally going righteous. So funny...

Well, work was one of those days where everything seemed to go wrong... although thankfully I managed to sort everything out by 4 pm so I got to relax and not feel overly emotional...
...but then I had to sit through an hour and a half of Extraordinary General Meeting. Given that I'm ON the committee for Young Bucks, I kinda had to attend, and I had spent the week before debating the new constitution with the rest of the committee... plus we needed Quorum...
... all in all, I think hitting my goal of 2K for a weekday was very good work. I'm aiming for 2K per weekday and 4K per weekend day - possibly more if possible at a write in...

I didn't even write today. I went through a whole range of emotions earlier in the day and bawled my eyes out for an hour straight :/ and just can't put anything down so that means tomorrow I will spend the whole day writing trying to get to 25k.

I stupidly went for a swim and then tried to write with chlorine-affected eyes. It's not going too well. I don't think I'll quite reach the quota for today.
ETA: Although, now that I look at it, it's very doable. I'm just over 8000 words and have just written the most satisfying end to a chapter ever, and there's about 20 minutes until midnight.
ETA2: Just managed it with 5 minutes to spare.

Another slow day for me, but the plot has evolved, and looking back over the earlier scenes, the changes make me feel better about how the story is progressing.

Hugs to those who had a crap day today, and yay to those who reached their goals!
I had a less than stellar day because I spent half of it thinking I was going to be penniless for a week, which was unpleasant, and then when I found out I was going to get a transition payment (going from fortnightly to monthly pay; pay dates did not line up well) I spent a couple of hours working on budgeting just so I can get through the next few months without a) overdrawing any accounts or b) having to give any relatives lumps of coal for Christmas.
