Why is there no region for where I live? I live in Horsham, West Sussex, UK. There is a region for Brighton, East Sussex and one for London but they are both cities and not really regions and I live halfway on between them with no transport of my own (and I am disabled which makes traveling that far very hard). Why are there regions for some UK counties but not for West Sussex? I am feeling a bit left out here! ;-p

I don't seem to be able to edit my post. Oh well, I will just add the info in a reply.
Just to clarify, I have joined both Brighton and London but am considering leaving them as there is really no point me being a member of those "regions".

Regions are created only when there is a Municipal Liason volunteering for it. There may be other criteria as well. So, you should pick the region closest to you or an "Elsewhere" region if that seems to be a better fit. There's a form to volunteer as a ML but I don't think new applications are being accepted right now.

Ah thank you for explaining. That makes a little sense at least. I have joined a few that are nearby including the relevant Elsewhere one. It is a pity that there is nothing nearer to me. I do not feel able to volunteer due to the restrictions that my disability (multiple sclerosis) puts on my energy and time. I have noticed that there is a thread in the Brighton region about how it is having to act as the Sussex region because there is no such latter region…

P.S. Do you know how I can change my target from 50,000 to 30,000 in my forum info (on the left)?

There's no way to change your word count goal on the adult program. Our young Writer's Program has the option for the children to set different goals, but here on the main site, the goal for winning is a minimum of 50,000.
