Hi, my name is Annie and because most of us will not be allowed to attend the Night of Writing Dangerously in San Fran, we're having our own! We call it The Eve of Scrawling Alarmingly, (ESA for short). Bring your laptops, notebooks and pens, parchment and quills - whatever you use to scribe - along with ideas and snacks to share! We have wireless internet, for those with laptops, and a ridiculously huge table, so seating wont be a problem. Also, we have plenty of writing utensils, so if you should happen to forget or misplace yours, we've got you covered (unlike Pepto).

Who: Sacramento Region WriMos!

What: The Eve of Scrawling Alarmingly!

When: Saturday, November 21st, 2009
6PM-10PM

Where: My house in Folsom!
604 Cordillera Ct.
Folsom, CA 95630

Why: Because we can

How: Again, because we can

If you happen to get lost trying to find my house, you can call my cell at 916-934-8990 - ask for Annie. You can RSVP on this page so I have an idea of how many to expect :D

My exact thoughts when I saw the information about the event :( That's when I had the amazing idea to make our own awesome part-ay!

Side note: Yay, ML stamped approval! :D

/me will probably be there.
Meaning I have to actually ask my parents. But they will probably say yes. I'll post again for sure after I've talked to them.
;) This will be a NIGHT MADE OF AWESOME!
Thanks for organizing!

Hey, awesome! That's my birthday! :)

We might have to do some shuffling with the Roseville write-in, but I'm sure it can be arranged. :)

I lied, you can't call my cell because it will no longer be in service by then. :P Sorry!

EDIT: You may, however, call my house at (916)985-3786 if you get lost trying to find the Party - for my house has Jedi mind powers that tell all who search for it, "This is not the house you're looking for." It's quite problematic!

Why wouldn't we be allowed to the Night of Writing Dangerously? Is it secretly a more exclusive event for East Bay Wrimos than the promotion for it would seem to imply?

no, go to it if you can. but there is limited space, it costs money, and is much further away, with some of us not being able to transport that far.

I might be helping with a local animal charity fundraiser that evening, but it depends on if they really need the help or not. If I don't end up doing that, count me in, along with a few of my other Nevada County friends! I'll let you know if I end up able to come along. :)

It doesn't so much cost money as require fundraising. And some of us are carpooling, so transport is possible. But the Scrawling Alarmingly sounds great, too! Either way you'll have fun. :)

HEY! This is on my birthday!!!!

I'm definitely in! But, do you mind if I bring cupcakes, since it will be on my birthday? I don't mind making a few dozen extra, if necessary.

I hope to come with more deathly snacks.... as long as I can keep the kids away from the sugar and put to bed early, I should make it fashionably late.

Somebody to ramble and rant to about the hard crap associated with writing a novel works fantastically. ^.^

Kat, whoa, seriously? I've met a ton of people completely randomly who have the same birthday as I do, which, y'know, is kind of weird. But crazy awesome, nonetheless.

YAH! I got it off of work. :D I pulled in the newbies, and told them that if they don't take my shift I will beat them with two hundred and fifty pages, or more, of crap. :D Who can say no to that, eh?

I will definitely either be bringing potato salad, chips, or ice chips... just kidding about the ice chips. :D

Since its two birthdays, maybe I'll call my boss in on that birthday cake my employer owes me, and bring a Ronald McDonald cake to the write-in. lol

Yup. 21 November's my birthday. (And I always make a point to celebrate it with the NaNo crowd, although I think this one will be the best yet.)

That said, the odds are approximately one in 23 that in a particular crowd, any two of them will share birthdays, and we've got over 500 people homed in the region, so the odds were good.
