Anyone out there? Thinking of maybe a meet somewhere. Would be fun to type with others or write in a note book even. Yep I still use good ol' pen and paper then go put it into the computer since I do not own a working laptop.

I would most certainly be interested. There's a group supposedly meeting in the Cedar Hills Crossing area on Saturdays, but I wouldn't mind some other places/times as well.

I'm in the 'Tron and almost always free. Ava Roasteria is a good place, if you get there before all the college kids ;p
Barring that, there's a toasty warm Panera over in Cedar Hills Crossing.

In case you didn't realize, there is an "offiicial" write-in set up on the West Side at Panera Bread in Cedar Hills Crossing each Sunday beginning at 3:00.

Not all events are set up on the East Side. We actually try very hard to have events downtown because this is a central location for all. The second choice is the East Side of Portland because there are so many more participants on the East Side. Examples of this could be seen at the meet and greets where the most number of people attended the Central Portland one. There was a decent showing for the one in Beaverton, but Central Portland more than tripled the attendance.

Regrettably, we cannot please everyone, so we must do what we can to accommodate for the most WriMo's possible. That is why we have a write-in in each part of town.

Obviously, you are welcome to set up your own write-in and you can add it to the write-in calendar to advertise to other WriMo's join you. In fact, this is encouraged.

I hope this helps address some of the concerns I saw posted here, and also informed you of the write-in in Beaverton already scheduled on Sundays.

I live in Tigard, but right across the street from Beaverton. East side is also too far to travel by bus and train. Money is tight so pricey coffee shops won't work for me this year. I'll probably be hanging out at Washington Square Mall on weekdays when the crowds are less. I haven't found power outlets, though. If anyone knows a secret area in the mall with an outlet nearby, let me know.

I'm curious if there are figures on how many live in various areas. Do most Portland-area Nanoers live near Gresham, or are us West Side suburbanites just less likely to go into downtown because buses don't run as late out this way as they do out east? Or we're snobs ^_^ Personally, I don't go into downtown unless I have to, and I don't go anywhere east unless I can get a ride with someone. Getting around without a car sucks.

I will see about going to Panera this weekend. My hubby drives up that way for work at 2pm, so maybe he can drop me off a bit early.

It sounds like you're really close to me. I'm in Beaverton right near Murray and Scholls Ferry.

I'd love to meet with other writers, but I have a hard time getting away from home to write because I have young kids and a husband who is not quite as excited as I am that I've decided to do this. I'm going to try to make it to Panera at least once, if I can, just to meet some other writers. This is my first time doing NaNo and I'm having a blast!

Yep, I'm right down the street, North Dakota and Scholls Ferry. Maybe we can meet up somewhere closer to us.

I work at Wa Square in the mornings. Do you have a bunny? If I knew who you were I would drop by and say hey:) I don't usually write there, because I work two jobs during the week, but wouldn't mind setting something up. I'm off Monday next week.

I'm new to the NaNo thing, but I would be interested in meeting other writers in the area. I live in Aloha, but am fairly mobile, so wherever would work for others is fine. I'm not free on Sundays, though.

If anyone wants to meet up during the daytimes, I can meet wherever. Just leave me a nanomail. Sometimes it gets boring just writing in my home office.

i have been out writing in various spots every day this week... the Beaverton library, Ava, a Burgerville while waiting for my winter tires to be put on, Panera, Washington Square... there are too many chores to do at home, and i would feel obligated to do a few of them if i stayed there, LOL! i'm not sure what next week's work schedule looks like, so i can't make any plans until after sunday, but otherwise i'm always up for a writing gathering whenever.

right this very minute i am sitting in the Cedar Hills Crossing Panera, struggling to finish up those last 650 words for today's goal. at the rate i'm going, i'll still be here at dinner, LOL! i've already been here almost 2 hours, *sigh,* and it has been tough, despite my high hopes for the day... maybe if i pull GlitterHeartNaNoBunny out, she will give me some more inspiration.

so, i'll check this thread before i go out for the day to see if people are out and about, and i'll leave my daily destination posted here, as well. i have to work during the middle of the day saturday, and the closing shift on sunday (i will get to Panera about 2 and stay for a couple hours). i hope to see some of you around of the next few weeks! :-)

I actually live in the 141st and Farmington area. We could do a little get together in Cedar Crossing. Sort of the common area there by the food court. For those with laptops they have wifi. Sadly I can not tote a laptop with me so I will be relegated to good old fashioned pen and paper. I transfer all my stuff onto the home computer. Its been rough writing so far. Home is very distracting with my two kids (8 and 5) plus I'm a very addicted CoH player (its an online game) and once I sit down with that, I do not stop playing.

I would love a chance to get out though. Availability varies. Week days I'm free between 9-11am, 12:15-2:30. Weekends it varies though Sunday mornings from 9:30-11:30 are kind of nice when my kids are in Sunday school. May be able to make a couple of the Panera meets too.

Cara

PS I love Ava Roasteria. Their chocolate items are to die for. :)
