Who brews coffee at 10:00pm? Nano participants and college students, that's who. In an effort to catch up on my word count I just brewed an 8 cup pot of coffee...for myself (I can put another pot on if anyone needs some ;-) ). I feel like drinking coffee at 10:00pm is unwise and somehow is helping me to get through the block I've been experiencing tonight.

How many cups/pots of coffee have you had outside the normal coffee consumption hours???

I think I'm one of the few who would be pretty unproductive if I started in on the rum and Cokes. Alcohol puts me to sleep, i'd be facedown and drooling in no time. But then again, maybe I could add some spaces and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz could increase my wordcount??

May start kicking in the late night coffee on the weekends though... we'll see how it goes....

Seeing as it gives me migraines I never brew coffee. How do I stay up on those late nights when I want to write then? The same way I stay up every night: My insomnia keeps me up. The only times I don't mind it are when I'm doing month long challenges such as this. It's only when I have to wake up the following day that I realize it was unwise to give in to the insomnia, even if it was for the sake of creating.

I managed to write into the night without the coffee, but I only delayed the inevitable. I'd be asleep in my cubicle if not for the double espresso I had after lunch!

This is the second time and have seriously started this. I got to 49,500 words in 2007. I finished it later and now I am seriously revising it. Starting on another one this year. I think I can do it because in 2007 I didn't start until November 15. Would love to gather nearby College Park, Winter Park or Baldwin Park. '

This is the first year I've done NaNoWr, and so far, I haven't had to consume any coffee. But then again, I don't think I've stayed up late yet. Give it another week XD

Roundabout, it's the 18th, you're going to need some serious Mountain Dew, unless you've got words hidden away!

I had coffee at 6 and 8pm tonight and wrote until 2:00am. Just made a hot chocolate and I'm trying to do some scene transitions I'd skipped, hoping to get 25k by Friday midnight. Caught up by Sunday midnight.

Last night I wrote until 5 in the morning and I didn't have a single cup of coffee, I'm kind of impressed. I did have a coke zero or two but I drink those all day everyday so that amount of caffeine doesn't really do much for me anymore. I will however, probably be brewing some late night coffee before the week is out so that I can catch up on my word count.

Haven't really done late night, but I do use Nano to justify late afternoon coffee. Also, it makes the morning cup that much more important and special.

I did notice that my previously non-coffee drinker sister (also a Nano participant) is suddenly giving in to the power of the bean. Oh dear.
