At 10,000 words, you come upon a gigantic obstacle that you have to run your way around.
There's no telling what it is, they've got it covered by a gigantic tarp.
Looks like it's about a hundred feet tall and at least twenty feet by twenty feet.
I think it's a statue and they're repainting or repairing it.
What do you think it is?
Last person through tear down the curtain and tell us what it is, please.
And now that I get a look at the back side of it, there's a banner on it.
"Grand Reveal November 30, 2009."

Hm. I think it's a giant rocket firework. The biggest one EVER built. And it's going to be lit and sent off at the end of November and make a GIGANTIC boom that is so loud that it resounding in your chest. Boy, will it be great! I cannot wait! (Uh...rhyme. *slight groan*)
Here's to 10k! *toasts*
Uh, can somebody take me off the fire? I'm getting a little crispy over here...

Going around is such a pain, I'll just keep my eyes closed so I don't ruin the surprise...
*ouch* that didn't work so well. And I still can't see what it is due to the stars and birdies. This is going to make for some interesting plot developments.

You know, I'm really liking this huge firework-thing concept.
Although, as I ran around this thing, it looks to me like it's possibly a giant pile of gifts, waiting to be distributed among those who cross the 50,000 word mark by the end of November. An extra, early Christmas/Yule gift thing for those who win. I so want to peak, but I know I mustn't get distracted.

As I stand back and look, head slightly tilted to the right, I think... hmmm... looks like a big rock. Way to get the masses hopeful and looking forward to gifts and fireworks. Is it even carved to resemble a pen or a laptop or something interesting?

I'm here, too. Hit it slightly before 9:30 last night. As I was writing yesterday, I went through a few different phases:
1. I'm over 500 words. That's good enough, right? *kept writing anyway*
2. Ooh, I'm almost to the 1667 for the day. That's good enough, right? *kept writing anyway*
3. Well, look at that! I'm almost at 2000 words for the day. That's good enough, right? *kept writing anyway*
4. Dang, only a little bit further to go for 10,000! That's good enough, right? Right.
Here's hoping I go through similar phases in the future. I would like to be caught up at least one day this month (other than the first, when I was right on schedule).

AHHH YAY.
Honestly, I'm not really following the whole running around something under a curtain metaphor, but I just wanted to say I JUST GOT TEN THOUSAND WORDS AND OH MY GOSH I AM SO FREAKING HAPPY AND AHHHH. My schedule has been beyond insane, so I'm still significantly behind, but this is a MASSIVE milestone and I'm so excited. :D

Ok, Ok.
I know that the rest of you have moved on from here and are viewing the lighthouse at 25,000, and I know that I am still more than 10,000 words behind, BUT
I am really happy that I hit 10,000 words late last night. I was so excited I went right to bed and didn't even post here.
So anyways, I still have some hope. I mean, I'm still on the first day of the murder, so there's got to be a lot more, right?
