The upside is I am writing like a house a-fire! The bad news is that my percentage of microwave meals and ordering out for pizza, and letting dishes and laudry pile up is suffering for it. But what the heck. It is only one month, right? And at least I am still meeting my daily hygiene needs. That's what counts. (But Flossing, buddy, you may have to watch out. You might get cut)

LOL! Oh the things we neglect in November for the sake of writing. Keep writing. The dishes, laundry, and everything else will be waiting for you on the other side of the finish line come Dec. 1. Awesome word count so far, keep it up!

All that really matters is the word count. ;)

My hubby & I split chores about 50/50 and I've asked him for a little extra on his side this month, which he's been really helpful about. Still, I've already had canned soup and frozen pizza...and we're only 6 days in. Got some batch cooking done, which will hold us over for a while.

Does NaNoWriMo have a National Novelists' Maids Month (NaNoMaiMo) parallel program?

Ha! I love it! NaNoMaMo - I'll buy the tee-shirt (or, in nano: "tee shirt" !

I was noticing, actually, that my chronic situation of not keeping up had not, in fact, gotten worse. And that reminded me of Quentin Crisp telling housewives to be strong because after four years the dirt doesn't get any worse. I think that's on youtube somewhere.

Thanks for this thread. Possibly my housework WILL fade when my word count output approaches yours.

I agree. Ordering in is one way to keep down the dishes. Another is to forgo the dishes and buy paper plates and plastic silverware (or reuse chopsticks!) so that you can trash your used dining materials and have no worries about the pile of dishes in the sink... and then on the counter... and to the stove top by the end of November. I did that once, and it was a nightmare to clean up. Seriously, NaNo maids sound like a wicked good idea.

I have to say that it's not just my housework, but also my eating habits. The idea of cooking and dirtying dishes that I will inevitably have to clean up has me resorting to hot pockets on paper towels. And reusing drink glasses far more than they should be.....
