So I have been temporarily laid off (hopefully) and find myself with the month freed up for writing. Any other writers unbound by the cruel confines of employment? Maybe start a street corner write-in, put a bucket in front of us for tips?

I'm devoid of formal employment, but i'm doing the stay-at-home-mom thing, so i still have to scrounge time to write. If you do end up trying to streetcorner writing/busking gig, post pictures. I like to live vicariously.

Meeee! I would be totally up for a street corner write-in with a tip-bucket. I also have tap shoes here and know how to tap dance, if you think that would help increase tips.

I'm right there with you. I've managed to write every day, even for a half hour. I live in Brooklyn too. We can try to attend one of the write-ins sometime!

Yup, unemployed. My visa status doesn't let me work and my lack of funds doesn't let me study

I've been unemployed since my summer job finished (I'm in high school, by the way).

Still, my time is pretty tight for the weekdays.

Me too! Long story short I was laid off a while back but for now I'm doing the stay- at- home* dad thing. I've cut my TV time down with nano!

* note the spaces after the hypens; I turned a single word phrase into three words! I'm learning!

::joins the line of unemployed NaNoers::

I've been unemployed since the summer ended. I was working as a drama teacher at a summer camp, but alas, haven't been able to find anything since. I'm currently searching for a new job, which sadly has cut into my NaNoing time a bit, but I need a day job. Someday, I'll be a professional writer, but for now, I am stuck looking for something to pay the bills.

Much love to my fellow unemployed people.

This year I am employed (thank goodness!), but the year I was out during nano (2007) I would spend my mornings looking at Monster, Craig, and then write like a maniac.

The wordcount that year 100,226 words.

It helped that we had the three city word war.
