It may not be good, but there sure is a lot of it! *Grins*

I am so insanely happy not only to have reached 20k, but that my 20,000th word is freakin' awesome. Not an "a" or "the" like the other milestones. The lucky word was POULTRY, found in this sentence: ""First off, can you tell me how it is that I find you surrounded by frozen poultry?""

Rock and roll, Princess!

Today was not a good day to write it transpired so I managed a bare 366 words. I am too wiped to do anything but sleep now, but tomorrow I have the morning: goal is to get to the end of chapter 9 (I just started chapter 7) and I am expecting to break 20k with extreme prejudice.

Just broke 20k, and I still have another hour write! Should get past 21k before I stop.

The magic word was "father", as in "he missed his father and his mother".

... because, you know, people get sad even in science fiction epics.

So, word count for the day ended up just shy of 5,000 - I would have done more, but I was fighting with Scrivener.

A Scrivener tip: if your text suddenly all starts going in in CAPS, then try pressing Command-3 to turn off the scriptwriting mode you have probably inadvertently activated.

Knocked out another eighty five words to say I had another 5k day, but they were rubbish so I don't really know why I bothered.

Was just not feeling up to it but forced myself to slog through it and write a few hundred words last night to break the 20K line. My 20,000th word was "a" How anticlimactic.

Was really not feeling up to it last night but forced myself to write a few hundred words in order to break the 20K mark. Slogging through that was harder than writing a few thousand words on other nights. Don't know why. Turned out my 20,000th word was "a" Felt let down by that.

Woo-hoo! My 20,000th word was "know."

"I don't know what Sarah's planning on doing."

FYI, I have been wildly helped by that Write or Die thingie. It was 10,000 word day. Astounding! My previous goal was 8,000 words in one day.

Good luck, everybody!!!!

Eddie Izzard is my favorite! His live performance in Portland was incredible!
I saw him in Dublin, too, in 2008 when he received the James Joyce Award of the Literary and Historical Society (my son was in school there at the time).

20,000th word was "buying"

Lana tried to set her straight, saying there was nothing between herself and Ian, but she got about as far as she did with everybody else. They just weren’t buying the “Its not like that” line.

Wooo! I hit 20,000 today - didn't think I'd make it.

My 20,000th word is "tell" .... as in

"She could turn around right now. She could. And she did not have to tell anyone."

I hit 20000 sometime today. Don't know exactly when, and I have no idea what the word is. Doesn't matter much, at least not to me.

Finally reached it. Magic word: "enemy"

Excerpt: "Delaney dreaded visiting this enemy of her clan, but the smile on the lady’s face and her sad eyes softened her heart."

What can I say? The word was 'Tell'.
And I've socked away a one day lead so I can relax on Thanksgiving.

Hit 20,006 today!!

The 20,000th word: effort

Context: "The boys scooted as far as they could on their mats in an effort to face grandpa and his display."

Not really a phenomenal sentence - but they are getting into the meat of the story now. Yahooo!!

I reached 20k last night, though by the time I did I couldn't be bothered to update my word count. My 20,000th word is.... buried somewhere in the middle of a pile of about 60 typed and handwritten pages. XD;;;

I'm at exactly 20,000, so the lucky word is at the end of this sentence:

I didn’t question the fact that he could be very dangerous and I didn’t believe that he had any sympathies toward me.

woot!

Made it!

The special word is "almost" (which is a step up from "a" and "the"!):

"The same mother bore them, but they shared almost nothing."
