It's the end of Week One, and we are getting ready to go into dreaded Week Two. It's time for us to kick in into high gear, so I think tomorrow needs to be Double Your Daily Word Count Day.

What is "Double Your Daily Word Count Day," you ask? It's a day where you write at least double your average daily word count, and thus give yourself a hefty boost to prepare for week two.

It works like this:
-Take your end-of-day word count tonight (Saturday night)
-Divide that number by 7
-The result is your average daily word count. Your goal on Sunday is to write twice that many words.

That may take some doing if you're a wiz-at-word-count. But for those who are behind, we need this push, and more.

Use this thread to post your magic number, the number of words you'll be writing tomorrow. Then, when you finish writing those words, post again to let everyone know that you are victorious.

What do you win? Bragging rights, and that warm fuzzy "Yes! I totally won that challenge" feeling. And if you don't get that feeling, then just keep writing until you triple your daily word count. Or quadruple it.

Meanwhile, write like crazy until tonight.
Let's go, KanMoWriCo!

Ugh, I'll have to write 7,000 words, perhaps more.

Not a cool day for me.

Well, poetoffire, you wrote more than that last Sunday. You can do it!

Probably not happening here. My current average is about 2670 and that's after my best day ever yesterday. 5K plus words on a Sunday between church and Bible Study is highly unlikely. I'm aiming for 500 more than I did on Sunday Day 1.

Does that mean I should fudge the numbers by storing up all the good, fun to write bits for tomorrow? I'm good at fudging numbers.

25875/7*2 = 7393

I will be done. I have mandated it.

Hehe, mandate.

Ummm...maybe about 2000 words? DON'T KILL ME! (ducks from angry mob)

Well, Meow, it all needs to get written eventually, right? The order doesn't matter.

I have marked certain kinds of scenes and bits that are best for word sprints or wars. (That's often when the monkeys and rats come out. These rats were bringing a monkey mummy to life in one version...)

We need to be sure to do some sprints tomorrow night at the Writers Place.

Even though I am sure to write more today after posting this & it'll change my number, I'm in! I need to catch up & add a little extra to my wordcount.

Okay, I'm in. Not done for the day but the way it looks my goal will be somewhere around 9000 tomorrow, so I'm planning on going to the gym and starting at midnight. Be prepared for a surly teamevil at the write in.

I'm in, of course...

(The only question is, will I be doubling my average-daily-wordcount, or will I be doubling my total wordcount. Either way...)

Instead of dividing by 7, multiply and totally forget the 2? :D (Yeah, that's evil...)

This is an excellent idea! I've been having a woeful time of writing this year for some reason (hence my absence from the NaNo boards), but tomorrow I've got a write-in ft. a series of word wars with some of my twitter buddies, so hopefully it'll be a turning point.

So, I'll be shooting for at least 2575 words tomorrow. Good luck to everyone! :-)

Cheers,
Ditty

I'll have to write 3400 words tomorrow.

I'm totally up for that.

2,489

... That shouldn't be TOOOOOOOO hard. Consider I wrote 1,200 some odd these past two or so hours{including the few hundred I wrote off and on before I started seriously writing tonight.}

EDITATION:

I WAS WRONG! I wrote another 1,000 + words since then and now my goal is at: 2,803. :3

I could go for a good challenge.

My number: 2686

I might even go so far as to round it to a nice even 2700. Here goes!

3384 words. I'm fairly confident I can get that. Sundays are my good writing days (well, except for last Sunday, when we were out with family the entire day and I had to stay up till like midnight to get my first day's word count goal in).

Roughly 3000 for me. It shouldn't be too hard actually, and if I make it I'll be back on pace.

Let's see, that's only 2518 for me. Shouldn't be too hard, especially with Write or Die.

2914 for me, although I'll need to write more than that to catch up to where I'm supposed to be. Boo hiss.

Actually, I think tonight's write-in might help me achieve the goal today. Plus, I get great wordcount from characters going insane and guess what I get to do to Vicky? I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...

I didn't double up, but I made my personal goal of five hundred more words than I did last Sunday. 532 more to be specific. :)

Let's see:
(10,019 / 7) * 2 = 2,862.5ish
And I am now at 13,595.
13,595 - 10,019 = 3576 words total written today!

Phew! Caught up!
I never got around to the scene(s) I had planned to write today -- a new character decided to show up (and he was most welcome to!) -- so I have some things I can work on tomorrow.

Sunday's total was 3,072--darn close to double my daily. I think I would have made it had I remembered my power cord. Although it was an unplanned and kinda interesting write or die thing to try and get my word count in before the battery went to reserve power ;)

I doubled my double word goal. My daily pace has been about 1500; I wrote 6000. Back on track!
