I don't even know where this idea came from, or how these people got in my head, but I'm starting to strongly dislike all of the characters in my book. They are cloying and annnoying. Also, they speak in ryhmes...sometimes Argh!

They better not try to go all sappy love sick on me..or I'll whip out some aliens and a few light sabers, take them all off at the knees, make this a dream sequence, and turn this into a sci fi novel!

Yeah, I got irritated with my novel and decided to give my action hero a hiccuping fit just out of spite and malice. But that did help me get through the next 600 words or so until I knew where I wanted to go with him again. .

They say you learn about yourself through this sort of situation. I learned that I would suck as God. Also, you taught me a new word today, "cloying."

Hating my characters was part of the reason I restarted my novel. Hating everything else about it was the other part of the reason. Things are going much better now. I should catch up soon.

They all decided to turn into whiny teenagers on me. They were getting seriously annoying. Sure I'll let them whine on occasion, but there's no need to do it all the time!

Things should be going much better now that I've scrapped that part.

I love hating my characters. Then again I'm writing in a setting where I can kill them off at a whim and it's only a temporary setback for them. =D

I'm starting to hate my MC... which is sad since she's been in my head so much. She's alot like I was, so it's like living through a year of my life all over again. Not sure I'm a fan!! :(

However, if nothing else I could always kill her off half way and have her lover continue the tale. Maybe take vengeance? :) Who knows??

Wow, I could never write about characters I hate. I LOVE my characters. Probably because I drew on people in real life who interest me.

I'm getting to a point that I am tempted to write an entire chapter of description just because they can't seem to find more appropriate times to speak. Just can't keep their mouths shut when I'm in the middle of describing something important.

lol, I'll laugh all day at this thread! great :)

I was so happy at the beginning of this great adventure that I had an outline, but I might as well have saved my time and put it to more useful things, such as world domination.

Unplanned characters jumping in, weird conversations, no one is like I thought they would be, and my fingers are in collusion: "oh, that seems cool!" and they type away, completely oblivious to the outline, the plan, the Way It Should Be.

It seems like everyone is determined to run in place! What is going on!? I really hate these people (Heh!)

I have a character whom I love very dearly who insists on being in everything I've ever written. I let her know very kindly that she would not be allowed into my NaNo this year.

second paragraph of chapter one: there she is. >> now she's sobbing all over the shoulder and the settee of my main character, and I'm sure she'll keep popping in every few chapters or so, at least.

fantastic. xD

I know how you feel! My main character who I absolutely loved because she had a tendency to be a beeotch is now turning into a whiney little young adult.

And my other character of grand importance ha become flatter than heck and I don't know what to do with him! Then there's the final member of the trio who now seems to have split personalities all of a sudden. Sheesh.

Haha, I love that!
