I am so happy I have hit it, I think perhaps I will slow down, but not stop. I am not even close to halfway at this point if my outlining is correct.
I have never actually finished one.
I am proud of myself.
I haven't said that in a long time.

Every year, we seem to have a hero in our midst. Margo Lane was ours last year finishing 50 K about now (she wrote over 170 K that year; I'm confident that you can at least tie that now - if not top it!). The year before 'Mouseme' wrote over 100 K. The year before Talyesin started a new novel 13 days in - and made 50 K on it too.
You're in hallowed company now. Congratulations.

Neat. I had actually given a talk on a panel of authors with Taylsin this past spring. He's doing pretty well for himself as an author and has a decent following.

I bought and had autographed Rob's latest anthology at Worldcon this past summer too. :)
He's active on Livejournal too where I keep up with him and I was at his home for a magazine launch 2 years ago. He's good people and an inspiring author to boot.

If I'm not mistaken livejournal is how he got started with the Truthseeker series.

Congrats. (I'm officially jealous)
----------And I understand about the not being even close to halfway according to the outlining. I’ve just passed the half-way mark (wordcountwise) and haven’t even got a third of the story down.

I would like to thank everyone for their words of encouragement. It is a good thing I started fast because it is going to be a busy week in the non-writing world.
To answer questions, I think I have decided to make it more episodic than a single piece so I am thinking I will crack 200K by the time the first part is done.

Hah, nice work. Me and my 206 words and getting a good chuckle :)

Done too! The word count part, at least. Like Kaobear, I'm barely past the halfway point in my novel. Gotta keep writing...
