Has anything been decided on our NOWD for this year? It's coming up soon, and I hadn't seen anything on it other than TBA.

We are working on it, I promise! Criss is waiting for a reply from the pastor of her church to see if we can use the space again. We're trying to figure out if we can do it Saturday to Sunday, and still get out of there in time to be out of the way of the church folk.

We would have to have an "Everybody out" by time.. say 7am? 8am? If we started 12 hours before our kick out time, I'd say that would cover a NOWD, and give us (and NOT just the MLs) time to clean up afterward before the first service(s) are set to begin.

That's what we're looking at! We figure we can always just start earlier if they need us out at a certain time.

Just throwing this out there for people who work church services ...

Would it be possible to do it from Friday - Saturday?

Thought I'd ask.
K, thanks!

Hey - just an idea - we could get together at an IHOP or my place or something if we wanted to do a Friday-Saturday option for people. I'm trying to get out of my commitments Saturday and Sunday so I can go, but it's an iffy thing.

I *have* to work on Saturdays, no exceptions. Since it was already said it would be a Saturday-Sunday thing, I requested Sunday off. I wouldn't be able to do a Friday night one.

Just putting in my Saturday-Sunday vote!

Also voting Sat-Sun. I could do Fri-Sat if that's what was decided on, but it would only be part of it. :)

Maybe we should have an official vote or something.

The only reason I asked about Fri-Sat is because, like the kick-off, I would have to work until almost 8pm on Saturday and then be at work at 8am on Sunday. So I didn't know if anyone had even considered a Fri-Sat.

It's cool either way. I'll only be there for a couple hours if we decide on the Sat-Sun one.

But I figured it would also help out the church as well since they prolly have people in the church Saturday night and Sunday morning and we may be in the way.

I would kind of prefer a Fri-Sat since that gives me a day to recover before heading back to work on Monday. I'm pretty easy going to so if it's decided that we'll do Sat-Sun I'm okay with that too.

I just realized that I'm not helping the decision-making process at all with my vote of whatever, but that's just how I am I guess.

I"m waiting to hear from the pastor to see if we can have the NOWD there. The church was actually our plan B, we were hoping to get the Arlington libary, but the don't want us running rampant in the library overnight :(

Fri-Sat would not work at the church because the women's group is having a tea Saturday, so there will be ladies in the kitchen decoration cookies and cutting sandwiches Friday night and Saturday morning, and the foyer will be full of tables decorated with lots of fancy stuff. I think if we promise to be out by 6 AM Sunday (we could start Sat at 6 PM) we'll be out of the way for early service at 8.

If anyone else knows of a 24-hour location in Arlington, let us know!

:) Criss.

Maybe I could find this elsewhere, but this seems as good a spot as any. What does NOWD mean, or, better yet, what is it? I probably wouldn't go since I'm in Plano and it sounds like that is going to be in Arlington. But, what is it?

I *think* it's our version of the Night of Writing Dangerously they do at the OLL headquarters area in Cali. Basically we write all night.

Veterans would know better than I.

You could always carpool with someone or find a spot to meet someone who is between you and the write-in and go with them instead?

Right you are, CID. NOWD is Night Of Writing Dangerously. It can be a great way to add to your word count. If you can make it :D
