so i've never written a blurb in my life. its taken me an hour to come up with one, but it doesn't sound very professional. how long should these things be? I tried summarising the backstory of my characters and then the main plot twist without explicitly giving away the ending. good starting point? bad idea? |

By "blurb" you mean the short summary that goes in your author profile, right? The one that you want to sound like a book jacket?
Here's what I use: http://www.advancedfictionwriting.com/art/snowflake.php Do only Step One and then take out the sentence about the climax. Voila, insta-blurb (er, sort of).
