I'd like to suggest that, either as a change to the existing -average- option or as a separate option that for the region war widget, if the -average- option is present, the green bars be based on average word count rather than total. For example, in this one, which I'm just grabbing right off the widgets page:

You can see Luxembourg has the least words, but the best average words per person. Given that Luxembourg has a mere 8 people writing for them, it seems they have no chance against BC:Elsewhere (go us!) or Cali:East Bay. They kinda deserve a long, green bar on the widget.
So, I think it'd be cool if the green bars would show based on the average rather than the total. A few ways this could be done:
1. Every time -average- is used.
Advantage: Easiest method, both for users, and for the guys making it happen (probably).
Disadvantage: Now there's no way to show bars by total words and have the average printed below. :o (IE: You could no longer make a widget look like the one in this very post.)
2. When both -average- and -wc- are used.
Advantage: Still relatively simple. Because -wc- is currently not used with region war, no existing options/combinations are lost.
Disadvantage: No way to show word count and average together, and still show the bars based on average.
3. Create a new option, such as -avgwar- (or something less silly looking).
Advantage: Allows the most functionality / combinations of options. No existing options lost, and every imaginable new combination possible.
Disadvantage: Would probably take the most time to implement. May significantly add to Dan's caffeine expenses.
