Well, folks, despite a full-time job, four kids, two cats, two dogs, holidays, illnesses, and carpal tunnel syndrome, I MADE IT TO 50K!

So I'll take my morning writing session tomorrow off and only do 6K words this weekend. :) The book has about 15K more to go, so I can't stop now. Just have to pause a little.

WOOT!

Congrats Chris!!

I feel your pain! 3 kids, 3 jobs, 2 dogs, and a sick husband, and I made it too!! I am almost at 60K now. I am reaching for that 100K goal!

Thanks, everyone. I was hoping to have this book wrapped up in about 65K words, but it looks like it'll take closer to 70-75, which means I'll be working on it until early December. Oh well.

I can honestly say that NaNoWriMo is the best thing to happen to my writing in a long time. No way I'd have found the motivation to get this far this fast without it.

I guess I need to verify soon, eh?

Way to go, Chris!! Keep working at it.

I'm going to walk away from my 50K for a day or two before I get back into it.

Any word on a "Thank God It's Over" party in the region?

Congrats,

I just finished and verified--and the novel is actually done! We had a blast here at Panera tonight with two of us winning (in another few moments, it will be three!) and two others who are far past their 50K already!
