Fireworks blaze above them, staining her in pinks and blues as she holds her arms in the air triumphantly, grinning maniacally. In her right hand, clutched tightly, is the trophy she'd hoped, prayed, sobbed and begged for. In her right hand is her novel, held proudly aloft. this is what she has died over and over for, this is the prize that has shredded her sanity, lost her friends and gained her a wealth of new enemies. This is what required 87,000 cups of tea and coffee, what required no sleep and maximum stress. She looks at her trophy, nodding to herself in satisfaction of a job well done. In a few days, the 80 foot high statue will be started, but until then, this moment is enough.

Sure, right now it makes no sense and is more schizophrenic than the main character (which is saying a lot), but 50k! I started late, had swine flu and missed a few more days, and I've reached 50k. Seriously, if I can do it, everyone else can too!
