OK, I know I started the 25, 30 and 35K shout outs. I decided not push it with 40K, but here I am again...

45,114 and I am on the home stretch for the 50K.

I will keep going, though, but my goal for hitting the 50K at tomorrow night's write-in is probably sunk thanks to some home maintenance which must be done.

My dad brought home a new Trans-Siberian Orchestra CD home for me that a work pal gave to him. I'm listening to the music, figuring out what songs match what moods for future scenes in my story and then a curious thought hit me. What does everybody else listen to?

Can You Please Help Me .... NaNo Project Help!!

I was hoping y'all could help me just a wee little bit.

As a side project during November (and actually, I'm more into this project than I am with my novel), I'm asking everybody to send me postcards from which I'll base a story.

All I'm asking is that the front of the postcard is actually a place of some sort (Parks, City Scapes, Monuments, Museums, etc.... whatever) and that on the back, you write a character name, the character's age, and a sentance or a few words about that character.

Stick it in the mail to me, and (starting November 1) when I get it, I will use the image on the front and the character on the back, to write a short story of at least 500 words. (Just think 100 postcards, and that's another 50,000 words right there.)

I Won't Make the Write-In Thursday

As my intention is always to keep it clean, but funny, I was wondering, of all the thousands of words out there in your novels, how many of them so far are curse words? Rough estimates here folks...no need to go back through and count and no need for examples. Ten? Hundreds? None??

For me, I believe I only have about four or five, which is considerably less than I have used in my conversations with my computer during the writing of the other 20,000.

I may have to miss both write-ins this week. Nescher's brother is in country this week and will be visiting us. He and his wife are in the Army and are currently stationed in South Korea. This is their first leave to see us in a year and a half. They are supposed to arrive Thursday evening and stay through Saturday.

If I can't make it, I trust you all can get on without me. ;o)

EPIC Award finalist!!

I learned this morning that "The Meruk Episodes, 1-5" is a finalist in the Anthology category of the 2010 EPIC Awards, which will be announced in March 2010 in New Orleans.

What's really funny is the my NaNo project for this year is "The Meruk Episodes 6-10."

I think I'm too jazzed to write or do anything worthwhile for the rest of the day!

Just wondering if there was anyone else on campus who was doing this. I know I'd feel better knowing someone in the general proximity was struggling with noveling too.
