\11-1 BLAH .. I froze with the first day's attempt. It was a story that's been in my heart and head for a couple years, and I've made quite a few scene notes on it. But every time I tried to write it down, the Internal Editor kicked in and I just froze! BLAH Sooo... I changed my story to one i've had in my mind a while, but NO notes or outline on, just a few characters, a situation, and the bare essence of a plot. I pulled 781 words up outta the depths of frustration, and I'm quite pleased with the results. So, now i have to change my title, get some rest, and start fresh with the new idea tomorrow. Happily, I'm jazzed again!

11-3 Ah yes, now the story's flowing. And if i could keep my finger off the @#$# backspace button i'd do better! But I'm tryinggggg

11-4 No writing -- family day

11-5 slow day but good one. Got some plot probs worked out on the page. Off to write now

11-7 wrote yesterday, writing at the moment, paused to post my paltry word count, but then pressing on. I want 6,000 words today. that should bring me within where i should be according to calendar breakdowns. Off to write more . CHeers!

11-8 Ugh, a nasty cold has set in, I'm swilling EmergenC and hot tea, and finally had to give up and sleep. I'm feeling a bit more coherent now, so will write as much as i can while I can. I have a feeling it may be an early night. I did break 8,000 finally though. Yay me ;)

11-9 hmm I think i wrote like 200 words.. cold's kickin me. I'm tired, it's rainy .. forget it.. bed's calling

11-10 Cold's still kickin me, eyes feel like dry grit, but are watery. It's cold , i'm cold, i want to sleep, but i'm going to write at least one full page, and maybe sneak in a few more before my cold or the editor catches onto my tricks to amass words. Maybe I'll make a dent in catching up.
NOTE-- We're one-third of the way thru nano. bummer, but yay too. go WRITE!

- yay! i broke 10,000 finally! Going to take a nap, and hopefully recharge a bit, so I can aim for 11,000 by tonight. PROGRESS!

11-12 ANDDDDDDDD now i'm behind again. Wayyyy behind! Didn't write at all yesterday, travelled, spent day/evening with family, Great to do so no regrets there. But now i'm playing big-time catch up and i have a feeling the family's not going to like me disappearing to write. Oh well. I should be roughly @ 20,000 by night's end, and right now I'm just a lil over 10,000. Hopefully I can get a chunk knocked out later this evening, and then maybe hit a 10,000 day tomorrow, cuz wednesday isn't going to be an easy day. Thursday is looking promising as a quiet day though So hopefully i'll be back up there with the rest of the Nano'ers! LUCK to all . Go WRITE!

Ahhh. A great lil chunk of words! From 10 000 to 11581! whew! a good writing session. Gotta get back on the road now n head for home. Hopefully i'll get another big chunk done later. See ya! Ok, I jacked it up to 13,449 words. whew! that's writing! Darn i hope it's good stuff. Makes me nervous to not look at it! lol

11-13 I just read back over this blog on my progress. Ugh I wish i would have put my word count in from the beginning, but I didn't think about it. I'm going to save this for next year's NANO so I can re-read it then. Ok, I've been procrastinating a lot today. I've read blogs, forums, anything to keep from writing. Which, as I well know from past experience, means I'm on the verge of some deep insightful plot points or character growth. I seem to need these incubation periods when I'm on the cusp of something new and exciting in the story.

I'm also going to take "Madrynea's 4,000 words in 24 hr " challenge. That would bump me up to 17,449 words. That's still far behind the official Nano breakdown, so I'm actually hoping to make it 4,000 words in just a few hours, and just keep taking the challenge! LoL ah we of lofty dreams!

Ok, my start word count at 1:55 pm EST is 13,449 words. So, ready... set.... WRITE!

11-24 My word count today is 17367, and I'm abyssmaly behind. Preparing for and celebrating two birthdays, house guests, and Thanksgiving have been factors, to be sure. But it suddenly seemed as if 50,000 words were terribly daunting. As I just reread Chris Baty's NO PLOT NO PROBLEM book, it seems as if this is typical in week 2. Too bad I didn't reread the book earlier! UGH. So now I'm playing catch up big time here. I'm a long way from the finish line, but even tho I've stalled out writing, the story's been playin out in my mind. Maybe I needed the incubation period, I dunno. I do know tho that I'm ready to write today, and the house is quiet for the moment, so I've gone from 17367 to 18095 in just a little over an hour of typing. I'm using this log entry as a bit of a break. I know I'll have to stop shortly, cuz I promised to make cookies for hub to take to son in NY, and then it will be time to fix dinner, then clean up, then spend family time, and then hopefully a bit more writing tonight. My main thrust for the weekend will be tomorrow, when hub is gone to NY, and rest of family will either be watching tv or out shopping. But I"m reallyyy looking forward to this coming week as my no holds barred week. Wish me Luck! Ok, back to writing. 2:04 pm Sat.

3:20 Sat Word count now up to 20552, story seems to be flowing fast and seems very good, very coherent. The house is stilil semi-quiet so i'm going to shoot for another half hour or so before i stop for cookie baking. YAYYYY!!! word count! ;)
3:57 Yayyy I'm up over 21,000 ok time to fix dinner. ssee ya tonight

11-25 Mon. writing like crazy, trying to get my word count up while getting a decent story drawn up. I'm gonna make 50,000 grrrrrrr

11-28 wrote like a madwoman yesterday. and again this morning. it's after noon, now, i'm tired and hungry, but I think i'm just going to nap for a bit and eat when i wake up. I'm at 47393, so 50,000 seems in sight .. at last at last. at long last. g'night for a bit.
