Synopsis: Kai Elta Aurelio Ka-Hail-Wai

Kai is a spy who is hired for a job by a mysterious person. When he is nearly killed by two people who he has never met, Kai figures it is time to bow out, but not before he takes the beautiful Naida Weatherstone who seems to know he can change form, and can tell him apart from everyone else, even though there are no flaws in his magic.

Excerpt: Kai Elta Aurelio Ka-Hail-Wai

When he awoke there was some noise in his room. It was soft and subtle, but it was still there. Somewhat like the brush of clothe. Kai breathed in the scent of lemons and flowers, it perforated the room. He opened his eyes to see a girl, no a woman, with the same color hair as Cynthia standing above him. She had the golden honey eyes of her mother, a small rounded nose with light freckles on it, cheek bones that did not stick out horribly but gave her face a structured, but soft look, as well as a very small mouth in width whose height made her lips look plump. Not only that, but she was staring.

"I don't know why, but I have this feeling that you should look differently than you do." She whispered upon seeing him awake. Surprise flitted through Kai's body and then fear, but it disappeared when he met her eyes, something was different about her that he couldn't place, something that didn't make sense to him.

"I don't understand you." Kai replied, even though he did understand, he understood perfectly. She seemed to have the ability to know he wasn't in his true form.

"Oh!" She said as if waking from a dream. She stared at him still though, without saying anything. They sat like that for a long moment before Kai shifted in his bed. It almost seemed as if a weigh hung over them that made the moment awkward, but Kai was the only one to notice.

"What is your name?" She asked. Her eyes distant, again. Kai hadn't noticed it before, but she didn't seem to be thinking about what was here and now, and Kai couldn't help but feel some attraction to her, but that was probably because he hadn't known a woman for about a month, and she was exceptionally beautiful.

"K-err...Xander." He said, for the first time his mind not working and his mouth slipping to form the wrong answer. For some reason he felt guilty about not telling this girl the truth. He remembered Cynthia has spoken her name last night, but he could not remember at all what it had been.

"That doesn't fit you. It doesn't fit you at all." He felt the urge to retort that she didn't know him so it doesn't seem right to judge what fit him and didn't, but he held back, he didn't want her to stop talking.

"Why are you up here?" He asked instead of arguing with her.

"Well... I felt like there was something that I had lost, and I felt like it was in this room, and then I saw you, and you seemed all wrong for some reason that I couldn't place and I wanted to fix what was wrong."

"Do you always talk like this?" Kai breathed. Their eyes met, hers no longer in a distant place, and she sighed frustrated.

"Your eyes shouldn't be just one color, and they are not, definitely not, blue. Why do you not match what you should?" She asked growing agitated. She stood up as if she was about to throw a temper tantrum, and Kai immediately followed her and grabbed her arms to prevent her from moving.

"Hey, hey...calm down." He said, but didn't released her arms. For some reason he didn't want to let go of her at all. She did as he asked and calmed down, but he could tell that she was no less frustrated by the way she was biting her lip.

"Please, don't hide." She said. Kai felt the fear flit through him, but for some reason he felt like it was safe with her at the same time.

"I'm not hiding." He replied calmly.

"Your voice is all wrong, and your hair is dark not light, and you are thin, much thinner than you are, and your eyes, they aren't even the right shape. Asides from that, your name, it is all wrong, the syllables aren't right. It should be one syllable, and it should be light and relaxing like an ocean wave on a day when no one can surf." She said pressing on. He didn't understand how she could tell all this, but he felt like she was a danger, and not so at the same time. He stared at her, still holding her, before realizing how inappropriate that was and released her, only to have her grip his arms.
