Synopsis: Kohar

What if a nation were under siege, and the only people who could possibly save it from destruction were a retired soldier - the King's sworn enemy - and his teenage daughter? Yana Helebro and his studious daughter Aveli live in a quiet farming town, far from the intrigues of the royal court. Together, they farm and hunt and run a secret business that has made them quite wealthy. Helebro is content with his life away from the capitol city. 20 years earlier, after leading the royal army to victory over invaders from their northern neighbor Bivania, the weapons-master was horribly betrayed by his student, crown prince Vadoran, and bitterly resigned from royal service. He vowed not to return. Now Vadoran is King, and once again the nation is threatened by Bivani invaders, and this time there is also a hidden spy within the palace walls, working to steal national secrets and undermine the government. When an attempted assassination on the royal children is thwarted only by chance, Vadoran - no longer certain whom he can trust in his government, and unable to count on his dysfunctional family for assistance - swallows his pride and sends for Helebro. Helebro's daughter makes the trip with her father, anxious to meet a long-lost cousin and make sense of some of her family's secrets. The King and his former mentor must put aside their enmity and work together to unmask the traitor, protect the kingdom's heirs, and prepare the nation for war. If they fail, Kohar will be overrun.
