Humans are monumentally stupid, not to mention, chronically ugly creatures.

Subject to congenital defects, developmental disabilities, mental illness and disease, humans still insist on further decimating each other through hatred, discord and prejudice.

A controlled environment, careful husbandry, and genetic engineering could resolve everything, but no.

Humans have to have morals, and ethics.

Morals and ethics dictate against deliberately withholding the freedom to choose from individuals, for the right to choose is held to be the basis of human individuality, and free will.

That self-same individuality and free will that threatens to extinguish the human race.

But science seeks the improvement of the human race.
