Synopsis: Reconnect (Working Title)
To be told in the forms of journal entries, IMs, and Twitter/Facebook status updates. And then actual scenes with dialogue.
So far I know that Delilah will make a lot of witty & critical observations about society & how ingrained technology is in our lives. At the same time, she's just as addicted as the rest of us. And it's through that technology that she reconnects with an old friend named Justin. He actually lives next door to her, but in an effort to fit in, she had to sort of leave him behind. And now she's stuck in that life, where she no longer feels comfortable & wants to break free, but doesn't know how. She sees Justin on the "people you may know" thing on facebook & on a whim, adds him. No answer for a few days, then he friends her. After awhile they reconnect through it & become friends again, but only online. In school they still pretend not to know each other. But eventually she realizes that he's still her best friend & always has been. He's been waiting all along for her to come back to him & realize the mistakes she's made.
Excerpt: Reconnect (Working Title)
Liz laughed again and shook her head. "You're ridiculous."
"It's the chocolate," Delilah said with a smile. "The endorphins make me happy. Chocolate is good for the soul."
"I thought that was chicken soup," Liz said.
"That's only because Campbell's has a better publicist than Nestle or Hershey's does," she answered smugly.
