Synopsis: Gravediggers

People hunting ghosts ends in jail time.

Excerpt: Gravediggers

There are three of us in the cemetery. I’m the only one shoveling, though. That’s more because we only have one shovel than because my friends are lazy. Although that accounts into it, too. Jaime’s at the gate keeping a lookout. They locked it at dusk, around 6:00 or so and we watched the groundskeeper leave. Although for some reason he found work to do until almost 7:10, but whatever. The gate is low around near the sheer cliff down to the river, so we walked around and jumped it there. There’s a highway just outside the main gate, but no traffic coming up the side street. The plan is, if someone comes along, Jaime will frantically run back to Jack and me, I will grab the shovel and other gear, and we will either a) run for our lives; or b) hide. But that entirely depends on the situation at hand.
