Synopsis: Red Skies at Morning
Ten years roaming the streets of Airship City have turned glider pilot Kitty Featherston into a self-reliant, cynical young woman with an occasional addiction to laundanum. She never thought she would leave the city, but all that changed forever when she crash-landed on the deck of the Sorceress’ Poleaxe. Now she’s sailing the skies with a group of smugglers and working to bring down a movement hell-bent on destroying the Empire. Flying high above the cities and fields of Britannia, Kitty must learn to be human again, and she will learn that some causes are worth fighting for.
A novel of romance, adventure and insanity, set in a steampunk world.
Excerpt: Red Skies at Morning
“Pilot taking off! Clear out!” The call came back to her almost immediately – all the other pilots had long since cleared away from her trajectory.
“All clear!”
Kitty sucked in a deep breath and pointed the ship forward. Her feet began to pump the engine pedals and the wheels began to turn. The Seagull rolled forward, gathering speed as it went. She pushed faster at the pedals and the wheels turned faster in response. Faster and faster they went , girl and ship working in perfect synchronization, until they were at the very edge of the deck. The Seagull shot off the Ship and out into open air. It was flying easily, propelled forward by the speed it had gathered while on deck.
And then it fell.
