Synopsis: You Know What They Say About Plesiosaurs With Long Necks...

Space is black. Darker than the underside of that dresser in the guest bedroom that hasn't been moved since you bought the house, although you swear you'll repaint that room one of these days, right after you fix the patio and build that shed you've always wanted.

Flying through the blackness of space is the Daedalus, the second ship built on Earth That Was for inter-galactic travel. And in this ship resides one of the few metaphorical rays of light left in the universe...

And on the planet Chiron Beta Prime, Herbert and Valerie Marmaduke are hosting their annual Feast for Famine Awareness, during which their butler mysteriously dies, the biggest supporter of the Marmaduke's cause mysteriously vanishes, and the other guests recieve mysterious and threatening threats. It's all rather mysterious.

Is there anyone who can unravel this conundrum before it's too late? I certainly hope so, or else I don't have much of a book.
