Synopsis: Mixtape
Jumbled short stories, all written over the course of a month, totally 50,000 words.
Excerpt: Mixtape
Why a mix tape, you ask?
There is nothing so solidly nineties as a mix tape. How many babies of the eighties had a cassette recorder set up next to a radio, with their fingers itching for the record button at just... the right... second. How many flaunted early copyright law in order to have their own personal collection of songs they adored?
And what IS a Mix Tape, really, but a compliation of songs on brown, blue, or black magnetic film?
I guess that's what it is in its most basic form. But it's not just songs. It's songs that a person cared about enough to seek out and keep.
So let this be my mix tape. Stories (original, not borrowed) collected from my mind, from other's thoughts, and from your soul.
This is the journey, the movement, the inclination to make your mark, THE mark upon the world. So... onward.
Make it real.
Make it imaginary.
Make it begin.
Let's do this.
