She was no longer the widow of Thomas E. Moran, but a woman without a home and without anything to call her own. She was now Claire Michaels. Ashy blonde hair had taken over her formerly deep brown locks. Her eyes were cold and grey now. The flourescent lighting of the bathroom gave her skin a sallow hue. The woman in the mirror was a washed out copy of who she used to be. Everything was finally sinking in. She barely felt her knees buckle beneath her when she became aware of the cool tile against her cheek.
