We Are Of The Butterfly
an excerpt
You know it had to have been a good party when you couldn't even remember having attended it. Atleast, that was what Mieko liked to think. Icy coldness washed over her as her mother held a sauce pan over her head. Mieko squirmed as the bedclothes were ripped from her were her hands held it tight over her face. She groaned, opening her eyes into slits so she could see the angry look on the older woman’s face.
“Mum, for f**k sake!” she managed to spit out, injecting as much venom into each syllable as she could manage.
“Where the hell were you last night, Mieko?” Ami screamed at her daughter, red with anger.
Mieko paused for a moment. Where had she been? No matter how much she begged her brain, she could not fathom that information.
“Out.”
“Out is not good enough, Mieko Bendelle!” Came the hysterical reply.
“Mum, I’m nineteen. I think I can look after myself. Geez…” Mieko rolled her eyes at her mother’s overreaction.
“What do you think this is? A f**king hotel? Get your arse out of bed - now!”
((A/N - I know it doesn't sound like a romance, but I'm getting there! :P))
