Second Breath

She could feel it, the air that moved inside of her. It invaded her lungs and stirred for a moment before escaping through her mouth. It poured from her slowly like water from a rusty faucet. This was her second breath. She could not recall her first, but she somehow knew that she had done this action once before. She didn't know how she knew, but she longed to remember that moment before the current one, the breath before the last.
