Jude stood between the pillars of the Pavilion watching Breann walk down the hill. She shrugged on the translucent red shirt. He sighed yet no breath rushed past his lips. She glanced back toward the pavilion once. He pressed his lips together willing her to see him. Willing her to realize that she wasn’t alone.
She shook her head and continued to her motorcycle. He waited until she drove away. She’d go to Sammuel now. Out of Jude’s reach. He tilted his face up to the moon trying to see what she’d seen. Had she been contemplating heaven or hell?
