But no one called him by his real name. Most people called him “Jeez”. Some people called him “God”. However, he would answer to his name. Whenever someone yelled “Jesus Christ!” out of frustration, he’d walk up to them and ask what they wanted.

“Jesus,” Macy's father said during dinner, “What sort of name is that?”
Jesus looked over at Macy. She gave him a small shrug.
“Um,” he said, “I believe it’s the name of our Savior, sir.”

March 12, 2008

I prayed today. My mom would be proud, I’m sure. I guess the best way for me to start believing in God is to see if He’ll save me. Fuck. I promise, if I make it through tomorrow, I’ll go to church, every Sunday. I’ll go to every mass; every service. I’m swearing this on my life.
Macy is asleep next to me right now. She looks so beautiful right now. I feel bad for what I’ve done to her.
She’s been asking all night what’s on my mind, and I couldn’t tell her because I didn’t want her upset tonight, especially if I was wrong.

I hope to God I’m wrong.
