I lost my husband yesterday. No, wait, that’s not specifically true, on a couple of counts. First, I didn’t actually lose him, like a widow. I have a vague idea of where he is, which is most likely still in our town, though he won’t tell me exactly where right now. Second, it’s not really true to say that I lost him yesterday. I lost him much longer ago than that.
