Synopsis: Six Silent Things
Sebastien Ashworth isn't the president of Anidi V. He isn't even the vice president. What he is is the wealthy head of Ashworth Biorobotics, A&A Neuroelectronics and the Ashworth School for Boys.
This story isn't about Sebastien Ashworth. It's about Riley Pierce, Casper Jones, Leo Cochrane, Jack Denholm, Dahlia Blackwood and Korben O'Leary. More specifically, it's about what Sebastien Ashworth means to them.
The year is 2256 and human beings have expanded their horizons beyond Earth's solar system. No sentient alien life has yet been discovered, but the sheer diversity and breadth of the human race more than makes up for it. In the Atlantic system, on the planets Anidi V and Dyeisr, Sebastien Ashworth is experimenting on these humans. Some have all their internal organs replaced with synthetic ones, some have just their brains replaced, some get intricate electronics implanted in their brains and muscles, some have a combination of several procedures. Most die, but those that don't and are considered successes have their memories erased and are given false memories in place of the old. They are introduced to a new place in society with no knowledge of the experiment or their life prior to it. Those that survive and are considered failures receive the same treatment, but are tossed at the nearest convenience and are forgotten. Usually.
Sebastien Ashworth failed to remember one thing: life cannot be controlled.
