Synopsis: Meet Jimmy Pestilence
Jimmy King has the usual kinds of troubles for a 12-year-old. He wants a dog but his parents don't think he's mature enough. His grades at school (especially in math) are starting to slip. And his father is one of the original Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
You know - the usual stuff.
Excerpt: Meet Jimmy Pestilence
"Jimbo, you asked earlier about what I do for a living. What do you think I do?” I told Dad that I knew he was a pharmacist who gave out pills and medicine to sick people.
“Uh huh, that’s right, but what else do you know about my work? I mean, my REAL job?” I wasn’t sure what he was talking about so I said he also had to read prescriptions and he talked to people so they didn’t get their medicines mixed up or end up taking too many or not enough of them.
He didn’t seem to think that was the right answer either because he said “Jimbo, I think it’s time we had a talk.” I hoped this wasn’t the sex talk again because I couldn’t look Dad in the eyes for a week after he told me about that stuff.

So Dad’s a Horseman. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a horse around here. Where does he keep a horse anyway? He has a stupid horse, and I’m not even allowed to have a dog!? Criminy, whatta gyp.
