Brief Author Bio: Carterhaugh, or Kim Orsel, is a lover of English with an unhealthy interest in British literature, has a detrimental urge to write a novel, and is additionally cursed/blessed with boundless imagination. Kim sometimes spends her time getting away from it all by hiding in the library of Leiden University. And she writes. All the time. But it’s more to retain a semblance of sanity than anything else. In her ideal world, she would be lecturing on English literature, photographing the world, and writing novels. In the real world, she has been awarded her Master's degree in English literature, and lives, photographs, and works in Rotterdam while chasing that ever-elusive thing that is a finished draft of just about anything. |

Excerpt:
For the past six years I haven’t spent an October 31st not thinking about what I was going to write the next day. Usually I had outlines, plans, plot, characters, and some idea of where to go, weeks if not months in advance. I look forward to November and can’t wait to start. But yesterday, if I gave it more than ten seconds thought, it was a lot.
So, what was I thinking that destroyed a pattern that I’ve been following for the past six years?
