A Dream Come True
an excerpt

Here is the blurb I have so far for my book:
Shelby longs to get back to the wildlife of Zimbabwe. Yet she cannot see it happening any time soon till her phone rings one morning to find Dr. Nelson on the other end. Her favorite professor just got a call from Dr. Smith from Hanare needing help with studying more wildlife. Her boyfriend Peter supports her and she decides to go. Finding her favorite team assembled, She knows everything will be okay. That is, until her ex-boyfriend shows up and things all go downhill. Shelby wonders if she will come through this unscathed and will her dream really come true?

Arriving home, she pulled her car into the garage and took a look around. She loved her little gray house that she had inherited from her grandparents. Shelby knew there had been a lot of love in this house and she could only hope she would experience a lot herself. Stepping out of the car, she started to smell the start of supper being cooked. That darn Peter, the man spoils me rotten, she thought as she then walked into the kitchen.

“Hello, honey, I’m home,” Shelby said before collapsing into a fit of giggles at the sight of Peter in a frilly apron. “Okay what has gotten into you mister?” She said once she could breathe again.

Peter walked over to her and helped her off the floor. “Since I didn’t know when you were leaving, I wanted to leave you with enough memories till you got home,” He said before soundly kissing her on the lips. He pulled her in tight and that is when she noticed the bulge in the middle of the apron.

“Listen sweetie, as much as I would love to just go straight to bed with you. I need to eat,” Shelby got out between kisses.

Peter kissed Shelby and she couldn’t resist putting her arms around his neck. It had only been this morning that he had given her more memories but this is one thing she was going to miss the most.

Her passion was broken by a shrill sound of the smoke alarm going off over the stove. They pulled apart, him heading for the sink to turn on the water; she headed for the pan to bring it over to him.
