Something Lost, Something Found

Her name was Lisbeth Caldwell. She lived on the same street as I, since we were babies, and yet we had never said a word to each other. I even asked my mother, to be sure Lisbeth had not been a playmate in my toddler years. I have very little recollection of those years before I started school and became who I am.

Who am I? My name is Amber Lynn Weiss, I know sounds like I am the heiress to a great brewery, but I am far from that. I am, however, a girl of privilege most people would say. I lack, nor want for anything...actually I want a lot of things. Doesn't everybody always want things? As a girl of privilege I enjoy a certain level of popularity around town. Not that way, either. I am actually a good girl...not quite good-two-shoes level, definitely virginal, but still I do know my way around trouble.

Trouble is about to find me soon, Lisbeth too. Amazing how two lives that never before have intertwined will suddenly become infinitely entangled. Who knew we would travel down such a wild and winding road together on that silly September day?
