No novelling for me this year... I will be writing my candidacy exam essays for most of November (mind you I probably will get at least 50,000 words out of those...) *sniffle*

Born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Taran fell in love with reading in general and Fantasy in specific when she was 9; by the age of 12 she was banging away on the old typewriter, and after that the Mac Classic, starting book after book (and conspicuously not finishing any of them). She managed a few student publications in highschool, including a short story in the provincial student journal, Windscript, but the problem of getting things finished continues to haunt her. In 2003 she took a course in creative writing (Fiction) from Guy Vanderhaegue at the University of Saskatchewan, in which she managed to create complete stories in a mere 14,000 words or so (to the dismay of her classmates who had to read all that). Since then she's managed to complete, although not publish, half a dozen shorter works, but that great beast, the elusive "First Draft Novel," has escaped her to this day. But this NaNoWriMo, she has set her sights on it---will it evade her again?
