Lance Brown looked between the two of them, debating his words in his head. “The worst thing to happen would be for Jefferson Cougar to be tried as an adult. You’d probably have to go to court and…” he paused to lick his lips before continuing, “I can only do so much in court. It’s really in the hands of the judge then. And if it has to go to a jury, well, I wouldn’t make any promises. Juries tend to sympathize with mothers who lose their children.”
